Here, we’ll take you step-by-step through the process of creating our high-quality aluminum aerosol cans . From the receipt of aluminum coils to the final inspection, we take great care to ensure that every can meets our strict quality control standards.
The process consists of five steps that are carried out using five machines:
• System for loading slugs.
• Impact extrusion press.
• Sizer.
• Trimming and brushing machine.
• Washing and drying system.
Aluminum slugs are lubricated, aligned, and pressed into cylinders with up to 400 tons of force. These cylinders are then sized for uniform thickness and base shape. After trimming to length and brushing to matte the surface, the cans are washed at 80°C with detergent and dried inside and out.
The process consists of two steps carried out using two machines:
• Internal lacquer applicator.
• Curing oven + cooling zone.
The cans undergo an internal coating process where specialized machines apply a layer of lacquer inside. The cans are then dried again and ready for the next phase.
The decoration area consists of three units. The first unit is the base coater where the cans receive a basic layer important for resistance to stains and excellent print quality. The second machine is the printing unit, which can apply up to nine colors to offer a wide range of decoration possibilities for monobloc aluminum cans. The decorator is also equipped with a QA system to ensure perfect and stable printing results. The third machine in the decoration area applies the overvarnish, which is the visible finish of the can. The varnishes and colored coatings are hardened in drying ovens to achieve their perfect optical appearance.
The process consists of three steps carried out using NECKER machine. During the necker step, the cylindrical body of the can is gradually tapered using a matrix stretching device. Then, a one-inch opening is curved and checked with great care to ensure proper curvature. The leak detector is capable of detecting micro-leaks as small as 50 microns, while the photocell detects any light rays that enter the cans. The quality control ensures that only perfect cans are produced, and only those that are completely free of fog are accepted.
After leaving the last machine, the cans are directed to the packaging station where they are packaged for shipment to filling sites. They can be grouped in hexagonal packages for easy manual handling during the filling step. Only one machine, called the packaging machine, is used in this step to package, group, or palletize the cans in different ways.
